Construction on the Modified MOVE Culver City Downtown Corridor is officially underway. Construction activities began on Thursday, September 12, 2024, with the removal of striping and lane delineators on Washington Blvd. between Robertson and National. Construction on the Modified MOVE Culver City Downtown Corridor is continuing as scheduled. As of September 27th, all existing striping and delineators have been removed. Next week, crews will continue laying out new striping. Resurfacing is also in progress on Washington Blvd.
This Week (week of September 23)
- Striping removed on the south side of Culver Blvd. between Madison Ave. and Ince Blvd.
- Grinding completed on the south side of Culver Blvd. between Madison Ave. and Ince Blvd.
- Striping removal and grinding in progress on the north side of Culver Blvd.
- Striping layout in progress on Eastern Corridor
Next Week (week of September 30)
- Begin striping layout on Western Corridor
- Begin striping implementation on Culver Blvd. at Madison Ave. and continue eastbound
Construction Impacts
The City is working to minimize dust, noise, and temporary lane closures throughout construction. However, some level of construction impacts are anticipated to occur.
- Remember: bikes may use full lane. Please remember to share the road and use a full lane to pass.
- Businesses will remain open and access will be provided during normal business hours.
- One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
- Construction crews are using street sweepers and other measures to minimize dust when possible.
For safety, please observe all posted traffic controls, parking restrictions, and detours.
Bus Detours
Bus detours began on September 5 and will continue through the end of construction. All transit buses will detour onto Venice Boulevard between Clarington Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. These detours will affect Culver CityBus Lines 1, 1C1, 5, and 7, LADOT CE437A, Big Blue Bus Route 17, and Metro Line 617.
In general, Culver CityBus buses will use existing Metro bus stops on Venice. Use the NextCCBus app or visit the Culver CityBus website for updated bus stops, detours and closure information.
